A New Years to remember!! Jess and Simon meet and well, the rest is history. How the couple met:This was a very different picture 6 years ago at a mutual friends house party. You know the old tale of a couples locking eyes across the room past the stroke of midnight. Love at first glance! Well perhaps a little different in the story of Jessica and Simon. This story starts with Simon rudely butting in and taking over the conversation and that was the first impression. However first impressions aren't always made of fairy tales, as after hours of conversations plans were being made to catch up again and have a proper first date. And well.. They haven't been apart ever since.Something old, something new, something borrowed something blue! Not wanting to be too traditional the couple didn't follow the 'something old, new, borrowed and blue'. The choices and styling for the day represented them as a couple: casual, relaxed and fun. Not liking attention they focused a lot more on making sure their guests had a good time, had great food and could dance the night away. Jessica did however put a lot of effort into designing her dress, which was created by a dress maker and family member. She wanted to feel comfortable while keeping it simple. Having a very specific style in mind it turned out perfectly! They dress maker did sew a cute little blue bow on the inside to make sure I had luck and love on my side. It’s all about the cake [well for us anyway]Dark Chocolate and raspberry cake peaking out from the semi naked exterior drizzled with a salted caramel drip. The combination of Burgundy David Austin roses, light pink peonies, gum and peppercorn really created a pop of colour and a real feature. We then matched a vintage brass stand which created height. Always a great option for two tiers especially sitting on wine barrels with there lip.Advice for Future BridesTrust your gut and spend time making sure you pick the right vendors. I was blown away with how fantastic each and every one of my vendors was and how amazing the day turned out. We chose each of our vendors based on the personal connection we made with them when meeting in person for the first time. We were delighted beyond our wildest expectations with our flowers, our amazing cake and the incredible catering. Our guests still keep telling us how good the cake was and asking if we can get the recipes from the caterer! And because we know you’ll ask. Here’s a list of all the amazing vendors.Venue: Mountain Goat BreweryPhotographer: Alex Motta WeddingsFlorist: Gillian PollardCake: Boutique Cake Art
