They say opposites attract. This has never been more true than in my first meeting with this couple. Meet Lisa and Aaron. A bubbly and fun couple. I knew instantly we were going to have fun creating this wedding cake. Friends for awhile they kicked their romance off one night at a local nightclub. Let's just say there was a furry wall, safari suites and a wrong number involved. Say no more! The cake was an important touch for the groom Aaron. I remember question after question thinking "Man this guy loves talking cake!" and we LOVE anyone who loves to talk cake. This couple had the most positive energy and they completely trusted us to just do what we do. They wanted simple and classic. Gather & Tailor is such a minimalistic venue we didn't want to overcomplicate the design. The final design entailed; a semi naked exterior, edible gold leaf , peaks of toasted Italian meringue, topped with hand wired foliage and seasonal figs and blackberries. We then added a brass vintage stand to create height and make sure it sat pretty on the wine barrel. Advice for Future BridesRemember that it is yours and your partners day. You will never be able to please everyone so don't stress when you don't. There will be plenty of details to get caught up in, but the main thing to remember is enjoy yourself both in the lead up and on the day.Lisa and Aaron's Favourite SuppliersFlorist: Flos BotanicalVenue: Gather and TailorPhotographer: Katie HarmsworthCake: Boutique Cake Art
